For over a decade I have been involved in research and development of product formulation. Over the years I have seen many products come and go.
Many of these products promise to heal everything from cancer to athlete’s foot; and, of course, you can only get them from one lake or one geographical area. Guess who owns the rights to that lake or geographical area? You got it! The people selling it.
Another popular fad is what I call “cookbook nutrition.” This is where people treat symptoms with nutrients instead of drugs. For example, they take Vitamin B Complex for stress, feverfew for migraine headaches, or essential fatty acids for dry skin.
Although I do see times where these recommendations can be useful, this system is no different from the one we are currently following. Truthfully, without some form of testing, it is playing a guessing game.
After years of experience and thousands of patient visits under my belt, I realized that if you cleansed at the same time you gave vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and enzyme supplements, the body seemed to respond.
I also realized that because cleansing the body cleared out the toxins which were competing for the nutrient sites, you did not have to give as many nutrients because they were all getting absorbed. I would see people going into a brand name health food store, and they would be recommended a bag of vitamins.
The same people could go to the same brand name health food store across town, relate the same physical problem, and they would be recommended a different bag of supplements. They were just randomly distributed without rhyme or reason. Immediately upon recognizing this, I began to develop scientific protocols that were based on the individual, thus the name Protocols.
Nutrition and the way the body responds to it has not changed . . . ever! Plants still absorb minerals from the soil, and sunlight hits the plant, causing photosynthesis to produce vitamins. We eat the plants and get the nutrients.
A problem occurs because of the deterioration of the planet, causing the soil to become more and more depleted. Is soil depletion a reality?
In 1938, the U.S. Government stated that the soil was becoming severely depleted of many of its vital nutrients. Most people, because they do not realize the potentially devastating effects on their overall health, have made light of the situation.
USA Today, one of America’s most reliable news publications, has published in a recent article (May 2000) the truth about the world’s soil depletion problem. It explains that 40 percent of the world’s land used for agriculture is “severely degraded.”
The days of getting adequate nutrients from all over the world are over, so we will now have to participate in some type of nutrient supplementation. It is no longer a choice - it is a reality!
